Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This page is maintained by KIN to explain the rules, rights, and responsibilities that apply when you use our app. By creating an account or using KIN, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Who can use KIN
KIN is a members-only dating experience intended for adults in the Asian and Black communities. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. You must provide accurate information during onboarding, including your age, location, and interests. Accounts with false, misleading, or fraudulent information may be suspended or terminated.
2. Community guidelines
KIN is built on respect, intention, and safety. We expect every member to treat others with dignity. The following is not allowed on KIN:
- Hate speech, racial slurs, threats, or harassment of any kind.
- Sexually explicit content, nudity, or solicitation.
- Spam, scams, impersonation, or fake profiles.
- Doxing, sharing private information, or attempts to circumvent blocks.
- Any behavior that makes another member feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Messages and statuses are scanned for severe slurs and derogatory language. Content that violates our guidelines may be blocked automatically and reported to our moderation team.
3. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, receive multiple reports from other members, or engage in behavior that threatens the safety or integrity of the community.
Specifically, an account may be permanently terminated if it receives three verified reports from other users. Once an account is terminated, you will not be able to log back in, access your matches, messages, or any other content, and the account may not be restored. Termination is a safety measure and may be applied without prior warning in cases involving severe abuse, hate speech, or threats.
You may also delete your own account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile data, photos, and matches from KIN.
4. Content and privacy
You keep ownership of the content you upload, such as photos and profile text. By uploading content, you grant KIN a limited license to display it to other members in accordance with your privacy settings and our platform rules.
Your email address and phone number are not visible to other users. Incognito mode, available to Premium members, lets you restrict your profile so that only members you have liked can discover you. We encourage you to report any member who attempts to bypass your privacy settings.
5. Premium and payments
KIN offers optional Premium features. Payments are processed through Stripe. Subscription terms, billing cycles, and cancellation options are managed through your account settings and the Stripe customer portal. If you have billing questions, contact us through the help channels listed below.
6. Safety and shared responsibility
KIN uses platform tools to help keep members safe, including reporting, blocking, moderation review, and automated slur detection. However, these tools do not replace your own judgment. Please use caution when meeting anyone from the app, choose public locations, and report concerning behavior immediately.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will notify members of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of KIN after changes means you accept the updated terms.
8. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, account termination, or need help with a report, please contact us through the Contact link in the app footer or the Settings page.
9. User Acceptable Use Policy (UAP)
KIN is a community built on respect, safety, and trust. By using KIN, you agree to follow this policy. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension or termination, and referral to law enforcement where required.
Age and identity
You must be at least 18 years old to use KIN. You may not misrepresent your age, identity, or relationship status. Accounts that appear to belong to minors or that use false information may be terminated immediately.
Illegal acts
You may not use KIN to plan, promote, or engage in any illegal activity. This includes, but is not limited to, the sale or distribution of illegal goods or services, fraud, or any conduct that violates applicable law.
Prohibited content and behavior
- Sexually explicit content, nudity, or solicitation in profiles, photos, statuses, or messages.
- Child sexual exploitation or abuse material (CSEA) of any kind. We report this to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the appropriate authorities.
- Sexual violence, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that glorifies sexual assault.
- Facilitation of human trafficking or sex trafficking, including recruiting, solicitation, or commercial sexual exploitation.
- Scams, fraud, phishing, or any activity intended to defraud or financially exploit other members.
- Hate speech, racial slurs, threats, harassment, or incitement of violence.
- Impersonation, fake profiles, or catfishing.
- Doxing, sharing private information, or attempts to bypass blocks or privacy settings.
Enforcement
KIN uses automated tools, user reports, and human review to enforce this policy. We may remove content, suspend or permanently terminate accounts, and cooperate with law enforcement. Some violations, particularly those involving minors or trafficking, may result in immediate termination without warning.
